I have been working as a food stylist and writer for over 20 years. Having been raised in a very sociable family who loved to share their time with friends and family over long lazy lunches, supper parties and any form of celebration just for the sake of cooking and sharing that fabulous table experience together. I soon grew to love the act of cooking with my Mother and Grandmother, and the positive and vibrant feelings that sharing good food created.
I have worked on my many magazines and book titles for many years. I have written a number of books, and also had the privilege of food styling some of these books too, which I have found incredibly rewarding. I regularly create ideas and write recipes for magazines, keeping up with the latest trends and ensuring the recipes both taste delicious and look great in front of the camera. As well as editorial commissions, I also love working on food packaging, advertising and video to enable a really versatile ensemble of work.
I truly love my job and the diversity it offers me, each day is so different. It could be working on making real life supermarket food look it’s absolute best for it’s own packaging. Cooking up either my own or another writers recipe and making it look beautiful and delicious for a magazine page or book. Or creating ideas, writing and testing recipes in my fully equipped kitchen at home to baking and creating crazy ‘London Tower Bridge’ gingerbread commissions for online presence.
I really enjoy the creative collaborations, from the food photographers themselves, who are so brilliant at their jobs, to the art directors and clients alike. I take pride in offering a friendly and professional approach to my work each day so the whole team can have a successful, creative and really productive day.
